A huge well done to Mr Greenham for organising our KPA Walk Through Time Event last Friday! The children's work was amazing and to such a high standard. We were all really impressed and hope you enjoyed the display too!
Our fabulous Digital Leaders led an assembly on internet safety for the rest of the school. They spoke about how great the internet is and all it's uses as well as discussing how to keep safe online. They were fabulous! Each class then took part in activities to explore internet safety further.
We have been deeply saddened to hear about the death of Her Majesty The Queen and join the nation in mourning her loss. Our immediate thoughts are with her family and friends, and we join those across the country in remembering with the deep affection, the love and commitment she has shown to all of us throughout her remarkable reign.
We are delighted to announce that we, Kimbolton Primary Academy, have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2021/22 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward and recognise school’s engagement (provision and uptake) in the School Games against a national benchmark and to celebrate keeping young people active, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of physical activity and school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our events possible. We are committed to using the School Games to try and engage those young people who haven’t previously been active or represented our school and to try and ensure that all our students have a positive experience and want to try out new activities beyond school too in our community.
We believe in the power of physical activity and school sport as a school and give opportunities to those young people that need it most either as a participant, leader, official or volunteer. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas linked to the five School Games outcomes and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
Kimbolton Primary Academy has been awarded the Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award by UNICEF!
UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights. The Rights Respecting Schools Award is granted to schools that show commitment to promoting and realising children’s rights and encouraging adults, children and young people to respect the rights of others in school. Silver is given to schools that make excellent progress towards embedding the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into its ethos and curriculum. There are over 1,300 schools across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales that have achieved Silver and over 600 schools that have been awarded Gold, the next step up and highest accolade granted by UNICEF.
We are really proud of all the staff, children, parents and governors for all their hard work!
Ash class visited Woburn Safari Park today to enrich their Awesome Africa Topic! They explored the drive-through safari, had lunch in the sunshine, went to visit the penguins, took part in 2 animal workshops, ate delicious ice lollies and had a train ride! A super day for all!
We have received £500 from the Tesco Grant Scheme towards some new tech to support our Maths Club!! Thank you to all those who voted!
Ash Class are looking forward to their trip to Woburn Safari Park tomorrow! Please remember packed lunches, sun hats and water!
We are pleased to let you know that the recent parent questionnaires were really positive. The good news is that 100% of you agree or strongly agree that your child(ren) is happy at school, 100% of you agree or strongly agree that your child is making good progress at school and 100% of you agree or strongly agree that there is a happy atmosphere at school. Thank you all for your continued support.
There are some areas for development though, as expected, and we will be working on those over the coming weeks and months. 13% of you don't think the children are getting the right amount of homework so we will be looking at what positive changes we can make to our arrangements for home learning and 21% disagree that the school runs enough after-school clubs. This will be more difficult as every teacher (& many support staff) already runs at least one club. I will investigate some external companies to see what else can be offered and come back to you with some ideas of cost.
