Week Commencing 13th January 2020

As always, we’ve had a busy week in Ash Class! The children have been developing their addition skills in maths and Reception have been practising matching numbers with the correct amount of objects. In English we have a started learning about non-fiction texts. We have been identifying the features of information books and have thought of our own questions about our castles topic. We have enjoyed some art this week based on the art work of Paul Klee. We have explored drawing different kinds of lines to make different shapes and then used colours to fill the gaps. Ash class also took part in a PSHE lesson about what makes a good friend. We read the story of Monty the Manatee and learnt about the importance of always being kind! In science we have continued learning about the 4 seasons and have been organising the weather into the 4 seasons. We were treated to a workshop with Rock Steady music school on Friday afternoon. It was great to see some parents at the parent workshop too. Ash class learnt to clap in time, play music together, start and stop at the same time and to keep a rhythm. The children were all very keen to have a turn on the keyboard, guitar, drums or microphone!
