Week Commencing 27th January 2020

This week in Ash Class we have enjoyed some marshmallow maths! We've been using marshmallows to help us subtract; carefully counting out a group of marshmallows and then eating the ones we needed to take away! Reception have also been setting the table for a certain number of people, counting out the right number of knives, forks, spoons, plates and cup. They could practise this at home too!

In English we have been carrying our some research about knights. We have been highlighting key information and using bullet points to record key facts. In science we have been learning about the 5 senses and went on a senses walk to find out what we could see, hear, touch and smell on the school field. Everyone recording their finding on their recording sheet. It's great to see reception children engaging so well with writing. They have been using their phonics skills to listen carefully to the phonemes in the words and writing them down. We've all been working really hard on our handwriting this week. You can help at home by encouraging your child to form their letter correctly. Remember- letters do not start at the bottom!

Ash Class enjoyed another yoga session this week. They are enjoying learning new moves and improving their balance skills.

Please keep up daily reading and weekly Mathletics at home. If you need support with this please just come and chat.
